Valerie Upfold has worked in the hospitality industry for several decades, in both hotels and restaurants. She has worked in Canada and Australia in various capacities including Restaurant Manager, Sommelier and HR Director. Val also worked with Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality for 15 years – five in a Manager and Sommelier role at the acclaimed Canoe Restaurant in Toronto, and ten as the HR Director for the company. Starting the HR department from the ground up, Val developed all of O & B's HR processes including training and development programs, succession planning and complete recruitment strategies, helping take them from 100 employees to over 1500. In addition, Val conducts Food Television casting, with an eye for placing the best talent in front of the camera. She has now been recruiting in hospitality for 10+ years and offers HR consulting, making her a go-to for some of the hospitality industry's most known and loved brands.
Her knowledge of the hospitality industry and the people in it is unparalleled, and she lends her knowledge to both Centennial College and George Brown College, sitting on the hospitality school advisory committees. Val has lectured at the University of Guelph's HAFA program and has spoken at a wide range of industry events across the country. Val donates her time, through the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO), toward economic and social change by supporting the hospitality sector in developing markets.

Elizabeth Cormier-May is the CEO of Mammogen Inc and CEO of Dragonfly Data Ventures, Inc. When this chemist-turned-entrepreneur peeled back the medical mystery behind why 42 million women between 18-40 in the U.S. aren't eligible for breast cancer screening, she decided to do something about it.
She refuses to accept the medical reason why: Because the accuracy of the current screening tests (mammograms) for this age group is no better than a coin toss. This is unacceptable to Liz and her team. The status quo has got to go. She's planning to change things so that women are no longer grossly underserved in the healthcare community by meaningfully improving every aspect of women’s health including detecting earlier, diagnosing more easily, and treating better from end to never-end… and wow we are so ready for it.

Pamela is a mom of three boys and a military spouse. Born and raised in Moncton, Canada, Pamela is an entrepreneur, master esthetician, nonprofit founder, skincare developer, magazine creator, event creator, podcaster, cleft lip warrior, and athlete. Pamela currently sits on the 2021 Advisory Council for Smile Train.
Being a military family means frequent moves. Transitioning and pivoting is no feat for Pamela, before marrying her US Air Force pilot, she resided in Kuwait for a decade. As one of the few Canadians who remained in Kuwait after the evacuation amidst operation Iraqi Freedom, Pamela built shelter in home where she would seek refuge with her then one-year-old baby. Pamela has the ability to handle tough situations and uses her strength to empower women.
Pamela began her quest for empowering women in 2018 by hosting a Wellness & Wisdom Summit for Women of the Military. It has since branched into a global community of mission-driven women known as Women Who Do Wonders International, and a beautiful publication Wellness & Wisdom Magazine.

Carmen Darley is a self-taught artist, currently residing in Whitby, Ontario. As a recovering alcoholic, mom, mental health advocate, and motivator, Mental health and wellness are very near and dear to Carmen's heart.
Carli D Creative Projects started with the intention of giving back to the community is what started her business, in 2016. As she has a fortunate journey and pathway to recovery from her addictions, she hopes to change mental health stigma.
Everything she launches within her passion-driven business is grounded by empowering people to focus on their mental health first. Art is one of the outlets that she focuses on to share with others how they can leverage the activities as a coping mechanism for a bad day or something for a mental break.
Carmen is the official partner of the Ontario Shores Foundation, where she facilitates workshops with her project boxes shipped directly to the guests to promote mental wellness through art. As well, she's organized events where proceeds will be donated to the foundation and events where ALL proceeds are donated.
